SAGE KARAM REBOUNDS FROM BIG SATURDAY CRASH TO WIN STAR MAZDA RACE 2 AT THE INDY GRAND PRIX OF BALTIMORE

Baltimore, Inner Harbor / Sept. 2, 2012 – Coping with an ever-evolving racing environment – a railroad track ski-jump on Friday that evolved into a chicane ski jump on Saturday and a tire-mountain / blind turn chicane on Sunday… all topped by a change from the series' usual standing start to a rolling start – it was Sage Karam, rebounding from a big crash in Saturday's Race 1 who crossed the finish line first in the #88 Andretti Autosport / Comfort Revolution Mazda. This was his third victory of the season, his second on a street circuit and it moved him back up to second in the points championship.

CHICANERY IN BALTIMORE – KARAM'S CONCRETE CAROM HANDS HAWKSWORTH STAR MAZDA WIN NUMBER SEVEN IN SATURDAY'S RACE 1 AT THE INDY GRAND PRIX OF BALTIMORE

Baltimore, Inner Harbor / Sept. 1, 2012 – Starting from his 9th pole of the season, English racer Jack Hawksworth scored his 7th victory of the season – leading from flag-to-flag -- in today's Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear Race1 at the Indy Grand Prix of Baltimore. He was followed across the finish line, just 4/10th back, by Connor De Phillippi in the #2 Juncos Racing / ModSpace Racing / One24 Mazda and Gabby Chaves in the #19 JDC Motorsports / CLARO / Marca Colombia / Tecpro Mazda. The winner in the Expert Series race-within-a-race for drivers 30 and older was Walt Bowlin in the #23 AIM Autosport / Tampa Bay Jaw Surgery Mazda; he finished 14th overall.

KARAM QUICKEST OVERALL IN FRIDAY STAR MAZDA PRACTICE AT BALTIMORE – DE PHILLIPPI TURNS TOP TIME IN 4-LAP AFTERNOON QUALIFYING-TURNED-PRACTICE SESSION

Baltimore, Inner Harbor / August 31, 2012 – On a day turned chaotic by errant asphalt and intransigent railroad tracks, Sage Karam's 1:28.8 in the morning Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear session at the Grand Prix of Baltimore held up as the quickest lap of the day. The afternoon session, originally scheduled as a half-hour qualifying for Saturday's Race 1, was reduced to 15 minutes by delays for track repairs, and then further truncated to a total of four 'hot laps' as a result of red flags generated rated by spinning race cars.

SAGE KARAM QUICK IN STAR MAZDA FRIDAY MORNING PRACTICE FOR THIS WEEKEND'S ROUND 8 AT THE GRAND PRIX OF BALTIMORE

Baltimore, Inner Harbor / August 31, 2012 – Sage Karam, who finished second here last year and went on to win 'Rookie of the Year,' set the quick time in the first practice session for this weekend's Round 8 of the 2012 Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear. His lap of 1:28.8 in the #88 Andretti Autosport / Comfort Revolution Mazda was unrecorded by timing and scoring due to the failure of his car's transponder, which had its power lead shaken loose by the huge bump over the railroad tracks on the back straight. His time was verified by viewing footage from his on-board Replay XD camera. He was the only driver to turn a lap in the 1:28 range.

INDYCAR'S STARS OF TOMORROW RACING HARD AROUND 'THE YARDS' IN ROUND 8 OF THE 2012 STAR MAZDA CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTED BY GOODYEAR AT THIS WEEKEND'S GRAND PRIX OF BALTIMORE

Baltimore, Inner Harbor / August 28, 2012 – The location of this weekend's Indy Grand Prix of Baltimore – racing around Oriole Park at Camden Yards in the Inner Harbor – presents an apt baseball metaphor for the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear; the High School Varsity of IndyCar racing… a high-speed training ground for future stars of the sport who will move up to triple-A (Indy Lights) and then the major leagues (IndyCar).
