A RETURN TO THE EXPECTED – JACK HAWKSWORTH WINS FROM THE POLE IN STAR MAZDA RACE 2 AT EDMONTON INDY

Edmonton, Alberta / July 22, 2012 – With a return of the sun and re-assumption of his now-traditional starting spot on the PEAK Performance pole, English racer Jack Hawksworth won his sixth race of the 2012 season, leading from green to checkered in his #82 Team Pelfrey / TORGOEN Swiss Watches / EXA Networks Mazda. Sage Karam, starting from 4th, finished – as he did yesterday -- second in his #88 Andretti Autosport / Comfort Revolution Mazda. Gabby Chaves, starting on the outside of the front row and happy to continue his podium streak but tired of the bottom step, finished third in the #19 JDC Motorsports / CLARO / Marca Colombia / Tecpro Mazda… as he did yesterday.

VENEZUELAN ROOKIE CAMILO SCHMIDT WINS WET AND WILD STAR MAZDA RACE 1 AT EDMONTON

Edmonton, Alberta / July 21, 2012 – Star Mazda Race 1 at this weekend's Edmonton Indy was a wet and wild affair, and when all the rooster tails finally faded away, it was Venezuelan rookie Camilo Schmidt, a top South American kart racer making the jump directly to Star Mazda, who was leading the flock.

Given that his previous best finish in the series was 9th… and having qualified 15th in his #21 Linares Racing Mazda… and with the race ending in a green/white/ checkered melee, it would be easy enough to write his victory off as luck-- except for the fact that he got a monster start when the lights went green and climbed from 15th to 5th by lap 5.

NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN? TIME WILL TELL, BUT IT'S AN ALL-ANDRETTI FRONT ROW WITH SAGE KARAM WINING THE PEAK PERFORMANCE POLE FOR TODAY'S STAR MAZDA RACE 1 AT EDMONTON

Local drivers Stefan Rzadzinski and Blair Robertshaw will start 9th and 18th
Edmonton, Alberta / July 21, 2012 – It may be a little early to state unequivocally that there's a new sheriff in town, but there's no doubt about the fact that today's Race 1 of the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear will feature an all-Andretti front row, with Sage Karam starting from the PEAK Performance pole in his #88 Andretti Autosport / Comfort Revolution Mazda. Starting alongside in the #77 Andretti Autosport / K12 / Zakosi Data Backup Mazda -- just 0.005 sec. slower than Karam's 1:28.644 - is his teammate, Zach Veach, matching his front-row qualifying effort two weeks ago in Toronto.

HAWKSWORTH QUICKEST IN STAR MAZDA FRIDAY PRACTICE FOR THIS WEEKEND'S
EDMONTON INDY, BUT LOCAL HOTSHOE STEFAN RZADZINSKI MOVES UP TO THE TOP-3

Edmonton, Alberta / July 20, 2012 – With the second half-hour practice session of the day completed, English racer Jack Hawksworth has officially topped the time sheets in both sessions; driving his #82 Team Pelfrey / TORGOEN Swiss Watches / EXA Networks Mazda. He was the only driver in the morning session to set a time in the .28's (1:28.923), and was the only driver in practice to shave more than a full second off his time and dip into the .27's (1:27.887). It seems his prediction after this morning's session that he wouldn't be surprised to see a pole time in the low 27's or high 26's was on the mark. Championship leader Hawksworth is coming off two wins from the pole in the last race at the Toronto Indy and has scored four wins, five poles and six fastest race laps so far this season.

THE USUAL SUSPECTS, AND SOME NOT SO MUCH – HAWKSWORTH QUICKEST IN
STAR MAZDA PRACTICE 1 AT EDMONTON, LOCAL DRIVER RZADZINSKI IN TOP-5

Edmonton, Alberta / July 20, 2012 – Coming off an Indy Toronto weekend in which he won two races in a row from the pole, it's no particular surprise to see English racer Jack Hawksworth – the current championship points leader – at the top of the time sheets in Star Mazda Practice 1 at this weekend's Edmonton Indy. His lap of 1:28.923 in the #82 Team Pelfrey / TORGOEN Swiss Watches / EXA Networks Mazda was the only lap in the 28's, with second-quick Sage Karam's fast lap in the #88 Andretti Autosport / Comfort Revolution Mazda 0.734 sec. slower at 1:29.657. Third quick was Cabby Chaves, with a 1:29.797 in the #19 JDC Motorsports / CLARO / Marca Colombia / Tecpro Mazda.
