THE RED ROCKET BACK ON TOP AS SAGE KARAM SETS QUICK TIME IN FRIDAY STAR MAZDA CHAMPIONSHIP TESTING AT THE IOWA SPEEDWAY Iowa Speedway/June 24, 2011 – After a four-hour practice session yesterday, the 45-minutes of on-track time at Iowa Speedway allotted to the cars and drivers of the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear produced a new – and not unexpected – racer at the top of the time sheet… Nazareth, PA native Sage Karam, winner of Round 4 at Milwaukee. His lap of 21.905 (146.925 mph) in the #88 Andretti Autosport / MAZDASPEED / Comfort Revolution Mazda was only a tenth quicker than his best time of yesterday, but was under the official Star Mazda track record set by Peter 'The Irish Steamroller' Dempsey in 2010; the time however does not count as an official new lap record, because Star Mazda recognizeslap records set only during qualifying and the race. |
