CONNOR DE PHILLIPPI WINS FROM THE POLE IN THE ROUND 13 SEASON-FINALE STAR MAZDA CHAMPIONSHIP VISITFLORIDA CUP AT THE PETIT LE MANS WEEKEND AT ROAD ATLANTA

Road Atlanta / Oct. 1, 2010 – On a very fine day indeed for motor racing, the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear wound up its 20th anniversary 2010 season with an ending that could scarcely have been scripted better by Hollywood; pole-sitter Connor De Phillippi won his first race of the season, from the pole, and clinched the much-coveted 'Rookie of the Year' award, along with 3rd in the championship racing the #11 JDC Motorsports / MAZDASPEED Motorsports / Skip Barber Mazda. His drive was a study in excellent execution and he led from start to finish, crossing the finish line with 4.5 seconds in hand over the 2nd-place finisher. Anders 'The Viking' Krohn finished second, his 6th podium – and 13th top-5 -- of the season, locking in second place in the championship. Krohn pilots the #47 Andersen Racing / Norse Cutting & Abandonment / Trallfa / Colosseum Mazda.

RED>RAIN>POLE – MAZDASPEED LADDER DRIVER CONNOR DE PHILLIPPI TOPS A 2-LAP QUALIFYING SESSION FOR HIS FIRST POLE POSITION START IN TOMORROW'S STAR MAZDA VISITFLORIDA SEASON FINALE

Road Atlanta / Sept. 30, 2010 – In a qualifying session limited to two laps by the simultaneous arrival of rain and a red flag, MAZDASPEED Driver Development Ladder Connor Di Phillippi took his first pole of the season by a .488-second margin over series champion Conor Daly. Di Phillippi, driving the #11 JDC Motorsports / MAZDASPEED Motorsports / Skip Barber Mazda, set his quick time of 1:20.101 (114.156 mph) on Lap 2, crossing the finish line two seconds ahead of the red flag that, per IMSA regulations, brought timing to a halt and the field into the pits. Starting alongside him will be Conor Daly, series champion with seven wins and nine poles so far this season; he turned a lap of 1:20.589 (113.465 mph) in the #22 Juncos Racing / INDECK / The College Network / Merchant Services Ltd. Mazda.

ITS ANOTHER TALE OF TWO CON(N)ORS IN STAR MAZDA PRACTICE AT ROAD ATLANTA – CONOR DALY QUICK IN THE MORNING, CONNOR DE PHILLIPPI QUICK IN THE AFTERNOON

Road Atlanta / Sept. 29, 2010 – As has periodically been their practice over the last couple of races, the two Con(n)ors in the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear have been trading fast laps in practice. In this morning's first official practice session for the season finale Round 13 during the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta, Conor Daly – who has already clinched the 2010 series championship – set the quick time with a lap of 1:19.230 (115.411 mph) in his #22 Juncos Racing / INDECK / The College Network / Merchant Services Ltd. Mazda. Connor De Phillippi was second quick in the #11 JDC Motorsports / MAZDASPEED Motorsports / Skip Barber Mazda with a lap of 1:19.310 (115.294 mph).

ANDERS 'THE VIKING' KROHN QUICKEST IN FIRST DAY OF STAR MAZDA CHAMPIONSHIP TESTING FOR FRIDAY'S 2010 SEASON-ENDING ROUND 13 OF AT THE 13TH ANNUAL PETIT LE MANS AT ROAD ATLANTA

Road Atlanta / Sept. 28, 2010 – Norwegian racer Anders 'The Viking' Krohn, currently second in the 2010 Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear points battle, set the quick time in the first of today's two incident-free practice sessions at Road Atlanta with a lap of 1:19.256 (115.373 mph) in his #47 Andersen Racing / Norse Cutting & Abandonment / Trallfa / Colosseum Mazda. He was one of only two drivers in the morning session in the 19s', the other being Frenchman Tristan Vautier (left), a 2-race winner currently 5th in the championship with a lap of 1:19.801 (114.585 mph).
