UNEXPECTED PROMISE THOROUGHLY FULFILLED – NEWCOMER JOHN EDWARDS WINS POLE FOR STAR MAZDA ROUND TWO AT MILLER Newcomer John Michael Edwards, the 2007 Atlantic Series racer who joined the 2008 Star Mazda Championship just in time for Round Two at Miller Motorsports Park thoroughly fulfilled the unexpected promise he showed in testing with a pole-winning performance in the #7 AIM Autosport Mazda during Saturday morning qualifying. His lap of 1:43.650 (105.864 mph) was more than 1.5 seconds faster than his best test time and .691 seconds ahead of the 2nd-place qualifier, Sebring winner Joel Miller.

Back to Fast Forward – The drivers of the Star Mazda The unique mix of top-flight open-wheel drivers that make up the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear – with a few new faces thrown in for good measure – go back to their fast-forward battle at this weekend at Miller Motorsports Park. After a two-month hiatus resulting from re-scheduling caused by the unification of Champ Car and the Indy Racing League, Round Two of the 2008 championship will take the green flag at Miller Motorsports Park on Saturday, May 17.
