Under sunny skies 43 drivers took to Sebring International Raceway for the second official practice session of the Star Mazda Series North American Championship and once again Tim Jennings of Downers Grove, IL topped the time charts clocking a fast lap of 2:10.171.  While drivers faced a steady wind the session was incident free.

The third practice session will be held on Thursday, March 14, at 1:05PM.

Driver Quotes

Tim Jennings, #70 Jennings Motorsports  - “The car is beautiful right now and we’re only looking to make a few small changes before qualifying.  We’ve been able to run well on both new tires and on older tires so we’re very pleased.  Now we just hope mother nature holds up through the weekend so we can have a good qualifying session and stay out of trouble in the race.”

Moses Smith, #76 R Sport – “The track was getting slick this afternoon but we’re happy to be in the top three, especially with only a few clean laps.  Ron Roland and I have been adjusting to a new car this weekend and we’re getting a handle on how it reacts to changes so I think we’re working in the right direction.”

Guy Cosmo, #45 Racers Edge Motorsports – “That headwind was still out there slowing us down a bit and the track was getting greasy but we’re still running towards the front.  My left front tire blistered during the session which didn’t help but ultimately Friday is all that matters and we aren’t going to chase the setup right now because of the weather.”
