Ron Roland named Competition Director for Star Mazda Championship
January 25, 2007. Star Mazda Series president Gary Rodrigues announced today that Ron Roland has been named the Competition Director for the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear as well as the Operations Manager for Star Race Cars effective immediately.
Roland, who was the first employee for the Star Race Cars factory team in 1988, returns to the factory after managing his own team, R-Sport, as well as helping to build the Mazda Courage LMP2 prototype for American Le Mans Series competition. His new duties will find him serving as the chief of the series technical staff during race weekends, as well as the day-to-day management of the Star Race Cars customer support, including new car production, customer technical service, and spare parts.
“We are very pleased to bring Ron back to our series,” Rodrigues explained. “With his experience working with both the Standard Formula Mazda and Pro Formula Mazda, we think his addition to our management staff will be appreciated very quickly by all who utilize the products of Star Race Cars and those who participate in the Star Mazda Championship." |
