Star Mazda Championship announces Road America penalties

August 25, 2006. Pacoima, CA. The Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear announced several penalties today stemming from events during Round Nine of the championship at Road America on August 19.

Michael Potekhen had 45 points deducted from his championship total, moving him from second place to fifth place in the championship, and was placed on probation for the remainder of the season, for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Ramiro Scuncio will forfeit all qualifying times at the next event he enters for causing a full course yellow during the race and for overdriving the yellow flags.

Peter Ludwig will forfeit all qualifying times at the next event he enters for causing a full course yellow during the race.

John Pew will forfeit all qualifying times at the next event he enters for extending a full course yellow during the race.
