Star Race Cars hires Scott Bradley as Sales and Marketing Manager

November 18, 2005. Pacoima, California. Star Race Cars President Gary Rodrigues announced today that he has hired Scott Bradley, winner of the 2001 Star Mazda Series North American Championship, as the Sales and Marketing Manager for Star Race Cars, replacing Mark Rodrigues, who is stepping down from the position to pursue other interests.

Bradley, who has spent the past few seasons competing in the SCCA Speed World Challenge Touring Car Championship as well as select events in the American LeMans Series, brings with him extensive knowledge of the entire line of Star Race Car products from a driver standpoint as well as marketing experience gained in his years as a driver.

“We believe that Scott will be a great addition to our organization,” Rodrigues commented. “His experience as a driver, winning a championship in the Standard Formula Mazda as well helping us with some of the driving duties during the development of the Pro Formula Mazda, allows him to relate to our products and our goal of producing the next generation of driving champions.”

“I am extremely happy to be joining Star Race Cars and look forward to using my experiences as a driver in the Star Mazda Series as well as my time spent competing in other series to find creative ways to promote the entire line of products as well as the various series that Star Race Cars promotes,” Bradley said. “While I never left the Mazda family, having campaigned a Mazda Protégé and then a Mazda 6, as well as coaching drivers in the Star Mazda Championship, this is still a homecoming for me.”

With three product lines and multiple regional championships in addition to the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear, Bradley knows he will be busy and hopes his experience in the series will help him to hit the ground running. “Star Race Cars has a proven history of success and having worked with Gary and everyone in the Star Race Cars organization previously will help as I look to continue the tradition of success. I look forward to developing not just the Pro Formula Mazda, but the Standard Formula Mazda and Mazda Sports Racer as well.”

Bradley will be based at the Star Race Cars factory in Pacoima, California, and can be reached at (818) 686-3350 or sbradley@starmazda.com

About the Star Mazda Series

The Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear has become the most competitive open-wheel development series in North America. Featuring the Pro Formula Mazda, which features a carbon-fiber chassis, six-speed sequential gearbox, and a 240-horsepower Mazda rotary powerplant, the series has helped propel the careers of drivers such as 2004 Champion Michael McDowell, now driving in ChampCar and race-winner in the GrandAm Series; 2002 Champion Guy Cosmo, who along with fellow Star Mazda graduate Jamie Bach was named 2005 Rookie-of-the-Year in the American LeMans Series, and 2002 race winner Scott Speed, who will line up on the Formula One grid next season.
